This is an input device that is use to type or send in data/infomation into the computer system and also known as a set of typewriter.
TYPES OF KEYBOARDS
1. STANDARD KEYBOARD
2 ENHANCE KEYBOARD
*Standard Keyboard : this type of keyboard is initially used conventionally keyboard.it has 10 function keys, and a total of 85keys. This keys are jam packed on the board.it contains the standard keys needed for the manipulation but lacks some keys and structure that makes for easy and comfortable manipulation, hence, it needs enhance keyboard.
*Enhanced Keyboard:-this is an improved keyboard owning to the short comming of the standard keyboard.it has 12 function keys and a total of 102 keys or above.The keys are well space on the board ,thus,making it easy to understand and manipulate.
PARTS OF KEYBOARDS
- * Function keys, typing keys, dedicated cursor keys, editing keys, modifying keys, numeric keypad and computer keys.
- FUNCTION KEYS: This range from F1-to F10 or from F1 to F12 depending on the type of keyboard. They are found at the first role of the keyboard.from top there function van, from programme to programme
- TYPING KEYS: This includes numbers, alphabets and special characters which are used in typing.
- DEDICATED CURSOR KEYS: They are used to move the cursor around the screen e.g Arrow key, page-up key, hpme key and end key.
- TEST EDITING KEYS: They are keys used for editing test... those keys includes delete key and backspace key.
- MODIFYING KEYS: This refers to those keys that are depressed together with another e.g (X). In other to produce special effect by alternate key, control key
